There is a mistake in the :"Getting Australia Moving" document
worthwhile noting. On page 19 a statistics about Cycling Fatalities
states that for example 1 fatality occurs on average in Denmark and the
Netherlands per 100,000 km traveled. In the US this is between 5 and
6. If this is true cycling is one of the most dangerous transport modes
we have, considering that some of us cycle between 6,000 to 10,000 km
per year. One of my cycling mates reported this to the publisher who
then came back stating that it should read 100,000,000 km traveled.
This is much more favorable.
