Separate paths for cyclists, pedestrians in Perth

Luke Eliot writes in the West Australian today (10th October) that cyclists and pedestrians will soon have access to separate footpaths from East Perth to the Swan River foreshore after the State Government announced it would help fund footpath upgrades. The money will be used to help fund a 1,160m stretch of footpath for pedestrians, from the Perth side of the river foreshore to East Perth. Planning and Infrastructure Minister Alannah MacTiernan said existing footpaths had become so popular there were reports of conflict between cyclists and pedestrians.
