Ride to work day pushes benefits of pedal power

The first National Ride to Work Day was a great success with reports from all over the state of breakfasts and caffeine fuelled gatherings by workmates. More than 2000 sandgropers pedalled for the cause, with many of them passing the BTA's snack stop in West Perth (pictured). If you have any pix from Ride to Work activities, please send them in so we can put them on the site! A full report on R2W will be featured in the forthcoming Cycling in the West.

We (at Bunnings Store Support) had a successful turnout, with 12 registered riders and a couple of unregistered. About 4 were new to the experience, too!

Alas, the following day, I was informed (very politely) by a guard at the Perth Underground Station that bikes are banned there at all times! Transperth staff had only been informed that morning of the policy, and there is no signage to indicate it.
